Rhodamine Autumn (641)

"Rhodamine Autumn (641)", 24x24", oil on canvas. For sale on Etsy.
Two women are out for a stroll on a clear autumn day. One is dressed in punk fashion, with her hair styled into a fabulous blue mohawk. The other is a scientist studying hyenas, and she is cradling a sedated hyena in her arms like a baby. The fall foliage behind the women is bursting into triangular pixel fragments. Is it really fall, or is everything given a fluorescent pink and red hue by toxic rhodamine dye?

This painting represents Autumn Glory, color #641 in Naomi Cuno's Colorscape book.
